On the 4th of October, during the 2a. Edición del Encuentro ANUIES-TIC 2017 organized by the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Public Institutions hosted at the city of Guadalajara, a group of experts and members of the Research and Education Working Group (Jose Gonzalez, Jose Alberto Incera, Nestor Velasco-Bermeo and Israel Tavares) brought together by Salma Jalife from CUDI conducted the “Introduction to FIWARE” Workshop to CIOs of Research Centres, Universities along with public offices in the country (UAT, IPN, UNAM, UV, CICESE, CSIC-SCT, ITAM, TEC, CUDI, UdG). The one-day Workshop presented attendees the principles and current efforts conducted by both FIWARE Mexico and SmartSDK EU projects, the activities were complemented with a hands-on session to further understand the overall structure of FIWARE based applications based on its cornerstone: The Orion Context Broker.
